Neo Rauch's Biography
Neo Rauch is a German contemporary painter and one of the main figures of the so-called New Leipzig School. He was born in Leipzig, East Germany, in 1960. He studied at the Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst in Leipzig and graduated in 1993. His work is characterized by a dream-like atmosphere, surreal imagery, and bold colors. His works have been exhibited in numerous galleries worldwide, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Städel Museum in Frankfurt. He has also been awarded several prestigious awards, such as the Arnold Bode Prize in 2002 and the Rubens Prize in 2004.
