Miriam Cahn's Biography
Miriam Cahn (b. 1949) is a Swiss contemporary visual artist and activist best known for her large-scale paintings and installations. She often addresses topics such as gender, politics, and power in her works. Cahn has exhibited her works in many galleries and museums around the world, including venues such as the Institute of Contemporary Arts in London, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Milan, and the Mucsarnok Kunsthalle in Budapest. She also works with organizations such as the United Nations and Amnesty International. Cahn earned a degree in German literature from the University of Basel in 1977 and has participated in numerous international artist-in-residency programs. In 2015, she received the Swiss Grand Prix for Fine Arts.
