Mathieu Mercier's Biography

Mathieu Mercier is a French contemporary artist born in 1970. His works often focus on objects and the everyday, exploring the idea of the “ready-made” and the way it is transformed in his art. He has exhibited his works in numerous countries, from France to Germany and Belgium. In 2020, he received the prestigious Marcel Duchamp Prize. Mercier’s work has been featured in several major international exhibitions, including “Licht” at Sebastian Fath Contemporary in Mannheim, Germany and “Nunc Est Bibendum” at Eleven Steens in Saint-Gilles, Belgium.
