Lisl Ponger's Biography
Lisl Ponger is a German photographer who was born in 1947. She is a contemporary artist whose practice is primarily focused on the use of photography to explore identity, politics and culture. She is best known for her series of photographs which explore the everyday life of people living in Austria. Her work has been exhibited in galleries and museums across the world, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Centre Pompidou in Paris. She has also been the recipient of multiple awards, including the Prix de Rome and the Hasselblad Foundation International Award in Photography.
