Liliana Porter's Biography
Liliana Porter is an Argentinian artist born in 1941. Her work includes painting, photography and works on paper, exploring topics such as identity, memory and the possibilities of representation. She is best known for her singular approach to everyday objects and situations, creating surreal and humorous works that often incorporate found objects, photographs, and printed images.
Porter has had numerous solo and group exhibitions, including at the Krakow Witkin Gallery in Boston, MA, United States and at the Museo Extremeño e Iberoamericano de Arte Contemporáneo in Badajoz, Spain. Her works are part of the collections of many museums, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, and the Reina Sofía Museum in Madrid.
