KAWS's Biography
KAWS (born Brian Donnelly in 1974) is an American contemporary artist who rose to fame for his graffiti and street art in the 1990s. His work ranges from paintings and sculptures to product design and toy production. KAWS is known for his playful, yet often subversive, reimagining of iconic cartoon characters, as well as his exploration of cultural themes. He has had numerous solo exhibitions in galleries around the world, and his works are held in numerous public and private collections worldwide. His work has been featured in numerous art fairs, including Art Basel, Frieze, and Design Miami.
