Karin Kneffel's Biography
Karin Kneffel is a German contemporary artist best known for her hyperrealistic paintings and drawings. Born in 1957 in Berlin, Germany, Kneffel studied painting at the Berlin Academy of Fine Arts from 1976 to 1980. She moved to Düsseldorf in 1980, where she has lived and worked since. Her works are characterized by a subtle and poetic vision of everyday objects, such as chairs, tables, sofas, or books. Kneffel's paintings often appear to be perfectly composed and arranged, creating a surreal atmosphere. Her works have been exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions around the world, including at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Tokyo, the Museum of Modern Art in Frankfurt, and the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam.
