Jenny Watson's Biography
Jenny Watson is an Australian contemporary painter born in 1951. She has been exhibiting her artwork nationally and internationally since the late 1970s. Her work is primarily concerned with exploring the human condition and the psychological and philosophical implications of living in modern society. Her paintings often contain elements of surrealism and feature abstracted figures in dream-like settings. Themes of identity, gender, and memory also feature prominently in her work. She has been recognised for her unique approach to painting and her ability to create works that are both emotive and visually stimulating. Jenny Watson has exhibited her work in numerous galleries and museums across Australia, including the National Gallery of Australia, the Queensland Art Gallery and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney.
