Jenny Holzer's Biography

Jenny Holzer (born 1950) is an American contemporary artist and writer. She is best known for her large-scale public installations and electronic displays of text that make up her signature style. Her work has been featured in numerous international exhibitions, including the Venice Biennale and the Documenta Festival. Holzer's work often focuses on themes of power, politics, and popular culture. She has been awarded numerous awards, including the prestigious Golden Lion at the Venice Biennale and the Lifetime Achievement Award from the International Association of Art Critics. Holzer is also a professor at the University of California, San Francisco, and a Senior Fellow at the American Academy in Berlin.
