Jeffrey Gibson's Biography
Jeffrey Gibson is a contemporary artist and designer based in Brooklyn, New York. He is a member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma and was born in 1972 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He is best known for his paintings, sculptures, and installations that explore themes of identity, gender, and cultural heritage. Gibson's work often combines the traditional materials and techniques of his Native American heritage with modern elements, such as neon lighting.
