Hans Op de Beeck's Biography

Hans Op de Beeck is a Belgian contemporary artist born in 1969. He is best known for his sculptures, installations, videos, paintings, writings, photographs and scenographies. His works often reflect on the human condition, exploring themes of identity, memory, loss and displacement. He studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, Belgium, and has since held numerous solo and group exhibitions in Europe, Asia and the United States. His works have been featured in major international exhibitions and biennales, including Manifesto of Fragility at the 16th Lyon Biennale of Contemporary Art in 2022 and The Quiet Parade at Amos Rex Museum in Helsinki, Finland in 2022. He is currently based in Antwerp.
