Georg Herold's Biography
Georg Herold is a German contemporary artist best known for his sculptural works and installations. He was born in 1947 in Germany and studied at the Academy of Arts in Munich from 1969 to 1975. His works often feature mundane objects, such as chairs, tables, and other everyday items, in unusual configurations and juxtapositions. Herold has had numerous solo exhibitions around the world, including at the Kunstgruppe in Cologne and the Mercedes Benz Art Collection in Stuttgart. He is also a professor of sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. Herold's work has been featured in many important art collections, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Centre Pompidou in Paris, and the Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin.
