Dorothy Iannone's Biography
Dorothy Iannone is an American artist known for her vivid and colorful abstract paintings, works on paper, and objects. She was born in 1933 in Boston, Massachusetts, and studied at the Boston Museum School. Iannone has exhibited her work internationally since the 1960s, with solo exhibitions at the Museum of Modern Art, New York; the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, Denmark; and the Musée d'Art Moderne et Contemporain de Saint-Étienne, France. Her work is included in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art, New York; the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles; and the Tate Modern, London. Her work explores themes of love, sexuality, and female empowerment, often featuring autobiographical elements.
