David Claerbout's Biography

David Claerbout is a Belgian artist who works in photography, time-based media, and installation art. He was born in 1969 and is known for his contemporary art. He is also a professor at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. Claerbout has exhibited his artwork in numerous exhibitions and galleries around the world, including Finis Terrae at Geukens & De Vil in Knokke-Heist, Belgium, and Breathing at the Hamburger Kunsthalle in Hamburg, Germany. His works have been featured in the collections of MoMA, Centre Pompidou, and Tate Modern. He is known for his multimedia installations that explore the concept of time, memory, and perception.
