Cosima von Bonin's Biography
Cosima von Bonin is a German contemporary artist best known for her multimedia projects and performances. Born in 1962 in Cologne, Germany, she studied painting and sculpture at the Düsseldorf Art Academy from 1984 to 1990, before establishing a studio in Cologne in 1992. Since then, she has become a prominent figure in the international contemporary art world, participating in group and solo exhibitions throughout Europe, the United States and Japan. Her works often combine painting, sculpture and performance, exploring themes of identity and gender politics. Her works are held in numerous public collections, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, and the Centre Pompidou in Paris.
