Claude Lévêque's Biography

Claude Lévêque is a French contemporary artist born in 1953. He is best known for his installation art, which often features bright, bold colors and unexpected elements. He has had solo exhibitions in Paris, London, New York, and other cities. His works have been exhibited in major institutions, like the Centre Pompidou in Paris, the Whitechapel Gallery in London, and the Museum of Modern Art in New York. He has also been included in international biennials in São Paulo, Havana, and Istanbul. Lévêque is inspired by everyday objects and materials, which he often reconfigures and combines in unexpected ways. He has created installations featuring everything from electric guitars to lightbulbs, and his works often explore themes of consumerism, globalization, and technology. He often works with neon tubing and LED lighting, as well as sound, video, and other media. Lévêque's work has been the subject of numerous books, catalogues, and articles.
