Brook Andrew's Biography
Brook Andrew is an Australian contemporary artist who works in photography, time-based media, installation art, and performance/happening. He was born in 1970 and is based in Melbourne, Australia. Andrew's work focuses on themes of cultural identity, colonialism, and the power of symbolic objects, often featuring iconic Australian materials. His work has been featured in exhibitions in Australia and Europe, including the 2021 Biennale of Sydney and the 2022 Yoyi! Care, Repair, Heal exhibition at Martin-Gropius-Bau in Berlin, Germany. Andrew is also the founding director of the MAAS Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Gallery in the Museum of Applied Arts & Sciences in Sydney, Australia.
