Bernar Venet's Biography
Bernar Venet is a French post-war artist best known for his abstract sculptures and works on paper. Born in 1941 in Château-Arnoux-Saint-Auban, France, Venet gained an early interest in art and mathematics as a child. After receiving a degree in mathematics from the University of Aix-Marseille, Venet went on to study at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Venet's sculptures have often been seen as a reflection of his mathematical background, as he often uses mathematics in combination with his artistic practice to create new forms. His work has been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Europe, the United States, and Asia. Venet continues to live and work in Château-Arnoux-Saint-Auban.
