Beate Gütschow's Biography

Beate Gütschow is a German photographer, born in 1970. She studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and at the University of the Arts in Berlin. Her work has been exhibited extensively in Europe, the United States, and Japan. Her work is often described as a visual exploration of the built environment, both natural and man-made. Gütschow’s photographs investigate the relationship between architecture, nature, and man-made structures. She seeks to capture the essence of the landscape, often through the use of long exposures and digital manipulation. Her work has been featured in numerous publications, including the magazine Le Monde, and she has been awarded several distinctions, including the Prix Pictet in 2012.
