Andrea Geyer's Biography
Andrea Geyer is a German artist born in 1971. She works in a range of media, including photography, installation art, video, and digital technologies. Her work explores the ways in which individual and collective identities are formed, challenged and transformed by the historical, social and political context in which they exist. Geyer has exhibited internationally in museums, galleries and biennials, including the Whitney Biennial in 2002, the New Museum in New York, the Center for Contemporary Art in Warsaw, and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago. She has also been the recipient of numerous awards and grants, including a DAAD fellowship in Berlin. Geyer currently lives and works in New York City.
