Andrea Fraser's Biography
Andrea Fraser is an American contemporary artist and professor at UCLA. Her work often deals with issues of gender and power, often through performance and happenings. Fraser has had numerous solo exhibitions, including a major survey exhibition at the Institute of Contemporary Art, Philadelphia in 2004. She has also exhibited in many prominent group exhibitions, such as Documenta 11 (2002) and the Venice Biennale (2003). She is the recipient of several awards, including the Joan Mitchell Foundation Award (2003) and the Guggenheim Fellowship (2004). In 2018, she was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by the National Academy of Arts.
