Alicia Framis's Biography
Alicia Framis is a Spanish contemporary installation and performance artist. She was born in 1967 in Barcelona, Spain and she is based in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Her works often focus on the topics of femininity, social exclusion, and the ever-changing nature of our society. Framis has exhibited her work in numerous international exhibitions, including at the Venice Biennale, the Carnegie International, and Documenta. She is known for her interactive installations and performances, which often involve the audience in the creative process. Some of her notable works include the exhibition “The Embrace of Death”, which explored the impact of death on contemporary society, and “The Phoenix of the Future”, a performance piece which addressed the power of the individual in a changing world. Framis has also held lectures and workshops at universities and art institutions around the world.
