Alice Creischer's Biography

Alice Creischer is a German contemporary artist and professor of visual arts, who has been active in the fields of installation art, conceptual art, and performance art since the 1980s. Her works often explore themes of power and gender, as well as cultural and political issues. She is a founding member of the collective art group “die angewandte” (The Applied) and has participated in numerous exhibitions and performances around the world. Creischer has also been a visiting professor at the Academy of Media Arts in Cologne, Germany, and was awarded the Karl Schmidt-Rottluff Prize in 2014.
